Conservatorship

What is Conservatorship?

In California, conservatorships apply to adults. If a family member suffers from a mental disability, is incompetent, or is no longer able to handle their own finances, a probate court may appoint a conservator to manage that person’s affairs. Our attorneys can advise you on the rights and responsibilities of conservatorship, as well as pursue a petition with the court. We will also advise you on possible alternatives to conservatorship to accomplish your goals without the necessity of court proceedings.
